In order to register on the OFSTED Voluntary Childcare Register (VOCR) and/or to comply with Ofsted requirements child-carers are required to undertake common core of skills and knowledge training. We provide common core of skills and knowledge training
directly for individual child-carers and for local authorities across the country.
We are the only training provider to limit our numbers to 8 attendees.
Please bring an up-to-date CV, a note pad and example of an behavioural issue with a child you might have supported to the course.

The Common Core set out by the Children’s Workforce Development Council reflects a set of common values for practitioners.
These areas covered include:
Module 1 – Communicating with children, young people, their parents and carers
Module 2 – Child and young person development
Module 3 – Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child
Module 4 – Supporting transitions
Module 5 – Multi-Agency Team Working
Module 6 – Information Sharing

Training for Nannies is an independent organisation which provides the following courses for Nannies and Au Pairs:
- Ofsted-Compliant Paediatric First Aid (in Association with First Aid for Schools)
- Common Core Skills and Knowledge (for Ofsted Registration)
- An Introduction to Child Development and Montessori Education (in Association with MCI)
- Maternity Night Nanny Training
- Food Hygiene and Safety / Child Nutrition / Healthy Meal Planning Childcare and Education within the Home
We run courses on a bi-monthly basis. Our classes are taught by experts in their fields: medical professionals, sleep trainers, lecturers in Child Development, Montessori Teachers and Nutritionist, to name a few.
Our aim, quite simply, is to enable those working with young children to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be able to foster the child's development and growth in the most inspiring, sensitive and balanced way possible.
