City and Guilds QCF Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care (England)

The City and Guilds QCF Level 4 Diploma is ideal for those that are looking to formalise their work within the Health and Social Care sector and have valid experience in the field. It is ideal for those that are looking to progress on to Management or Senior Worker status but currently don't have any such responsibilities in the work place.

This qualification provides an excellent platform for those that are looking to progress within a care setting. Natural progression will take candidates on to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care once into a more Senior position within an organisation.

Assessment Method

You will build up a portfolio of evidence. This will be in the form of written statements or ‘Reflective Accounts’ along with supporting work products you have produced.

An assessor will visit you in the workplace at some point and undertake observations of you at work. These will be planned in advance in order to cause the minimum disruption to your work routine and to try to capture as much information as possible in one visit.

You may also supply witness testimonies or statements from third parties who you work with. This may include supervisors or line manager or other suitably qualified individuals who understand your job role and the standards you have to meet to obtain this level of qualification.

There is a total of 70 credits that make up this qualification. This is generated from a series of Mandatory and also Optional Units. As part of our service, SVT look to tailor the optional units around you as an individual making the qualification as personal as possible for each individual.

Duration

On average most candidates will complete in 9 – 12 months. Some may take less depending on their personal circumstances and how much time they have to dedicate to the qualification. Either way we will work at a pace that suits you.

What are the progression routes?

On successful completion of this award you may progress onto the Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) and other short courses in the Care sector.

Entry Requirements:
You must be in employment in the care setting. This can be full, part-time or in a voluntary capacity.

Age restrictions
The level 4 Diploma is not approved for those who are under the age of 18.

What is QCF?
The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) is the way of recognising achievement through the awarding of credits for qualifications and individual units and applies to England.
It aims to provide a more flexible route to gaining qualifications and enables progression to be achieved in smaller steps through the accumulation of credit.

Jo brings to the team a wealth of skills and knowledge having over fifteen years experience in care within the NHS sector, both delivering care and gaining extending clinical skills.

She also has two years experience in administration for Clinical Research as a data Co-ordinator for Clinical trials. Jo has spent the last year as an Assessor for Health and Social Care at levels two and three, before joining SVT in January 2014.
