IPAF (MEWPS Course) Work Platforms (IPAF category 3a & 3b)
IPAF Training enables employers to comply with the "Working at Height Regulations 2005" (WAHR 05), Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 Sect 2 and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 Regulation 9.

The training ensures that those involved in work at height are trained and competent.

The training also helps operators to work more efficiently and productively. Successful trainees will receive a PAL (Powered Access Licence), valid for 5 years.

The PAL card details the equipment categories the holder has been trained to operate. Instruction based on: I.P.A.F Guide to Mobile Elevating Work Platforms Health & Safety Series Booklet H.S (G) 19 

Outline

Course Duration: 1Day Course Contents:

 Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
 Safe Operations and limitations of use.
 Introduction to Mobile Elevated Work Platforms.  Introduction to specific machines.
 Major component identification.

 Starting / stopping the machine procedures.
 Pre use function checks.
 Check prior to road travel (self-propelled& trailer mounts).
 Site condition and route planning.
 Travelling the route and manoeuvring.
 Setting the machine for work.
 Basic operational practice including typical work applications.
 Correct parking procedures.
 Achievement testing / practical and verbal.
 Course review and questionnaire.

Trainee Requirements: 1. Personal details including: Home Address, Date of Birth 2. Copies of Certificates for Safety Awareness (if required) 3. Company Confirmation of all Aerial Work Platforms work experience (if required) 4. PPE, Casual for Theory and Overalls for Practical 5.
