AIM:

The course is designed to make staff aware of the general actions to be taken in the event of a fire occurring in the workplace, how to raise the alarm and follow specific company policies and procedures.

  • Fire Regulatory Reform Safety Order 2005

  • Legal responsibilities under; HASWA 1974, MHSWA and other Legislation

  • Employers / Employees Responsibilities

  • Increase staff awareness, Precautions & Safety Measures

  • Fire Alarms, Drills, Signs and means of escape

  • Nature of Fire Triangle

  • How to use a Fire extinguisher including Fire simulator

  • Fire assembly point and who to report to.

 

FIRE MARSHAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing Fire plans for the workplace

  • Procedures for alerting Fire service and Management control

  • Evacuation procedures to be followed and legal documentation required

  • Basic treatment of people affected by smoke

  • Debrief and review of evacuation

  • MCQ paper
