Introduction information:
This course will help those working with children or adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to support their communication by producing individualised communication passports. This course is run by an experienced Speech and Language Therapist who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Outline
The aim of the training
By the end of the day those who attend will be able to: produce individualised communication passports.
The learning outcomes (no more than 6 for a day)
Those who attend the course will have a better understanding of:
1. Communicating with People with Learning Disabilities
2. How Communication Passports aid communication
3. Creating Communication Passports

Speaker/s
George Flaherty MSc MBA Ba Ed, started working within social care in 1995. He is now renowned for his ability to pass on practical skills to those that attend his seminars and courses across the UK, Europe and the USA.
Over the years George has managed and successfully marketed his own businesses. He has now passes the skills he has learnt to owners and managers of social care settings. George is often a guest speaker at conferences and seminars explaining how to fill care home beds and promote homes successfully.
He is a published author of many books. His latest book The Guide to Filling Care Home Beds is due for publication December 2011.
