This course is designed to help care teams plan weight loss programs for the service users in their care. Those in care gain unhealthy amounts of weight for any variety of reasons. This course teaches those who attend how support service users to lose weight in a healthy balanced way.

The aim of the training
By the end of the day those who attend will be able to agree, develop, manage and update weight loss plans for those in their care.
The learning outcomes
Those who attend the course will be able to:
1. Identify the components of food
2. How to combine nutrients in a serving
3. How to calculate the calories required by an individual
4. How to support an individual in their weight lose goals
5. The value of everyday foods over there diet equivalents
6. How to deliver and amend a weight lose plan

Speaker/s
George Flaherty MSc MBA Ba Ed, started working within social care in 1995. He is now renowned for his ability to pass on practical skills to those that attend his seminars and courses across the UK, Europe and the USA.
Over the years George has managed and successfully marketed his own businesses. He has now passes the skills he has learnt to owners and managers of social care settings. George is often a guest speaker at conferences and seminars explaining how to fill care home beds and promote homes successfully.
He is a published author of many books. His latest book The Guide to Filling Care Home Beds is due for publication December 2011.
