This course offers intensive practical training in singing, acting and dance/movement, all the skills required to become an outstanding, versatile multi-skilled musical theatre performer. We believe that performing takes regular and frequent practice and facilitate this in all our courses by keeping numbers of participants strictly limited to a maximum of 18 students. You will have a chance to sing and perform as a solo artist frequently. At Associated Studios we are passionate about Musical Theatre and have forged strong and trusted links with industry professionals over many years. This one year intensive course:
- provides one-on-one singing lessons
- focuses on building the vocal, physical and mental stamina required to succeed in a competitive business.
- develops a rigorous practice routine, choosing and consolidating suitable repertoire covering all the genres you are likely to need for future auditions.
- discover and develop your unique selling point and castability
- unparalleled individual attention in order to develop as a person and as an artist
- concentrates on a specific project that has been designed to enhance your individual skills, repertoire and resources.
FEES and FINANCE
- £9,800 for 1 year full time course
- Following acceptance of an offer to join the course, the deposit for the course is 25% of the full fee (50% for overseas students)
All Course fees may be paid in instalments. In instances of financial difficulty we sometimes allow lengthy instalment plans.

A graduate student who is undertaking or has completed this one year course can apply for credits for prior learning on the MA Ensemble Theatre at Rose Bruford. Students would apply to Rose Bruford to receive an exemption for 30-60 credits of the Rose Bruford MA programme. Were this option to go ahead, Rose Bruford would organise research methodologies for them around the commitment to Associated Studios.The Associated Studios London Diploma in Musical Theatre
Students will be assessed in classes and projects throughout the course and marked accordingly. Those students who successfully achieve the required standard will be awarded an Associated Studios London Diploma in Musical Theatre.Overseas Applicants

The first term will develop your core skills with modules including:
- ACTING: Text classes, Acting Method, Improvisation, Clowning, Shakespeare Text Into Song, Sonnets and Speeches, Sight-reading, Audition Technique
- VOCAL: Performance Classes, Vocal Workout, Repertoire and Genre, Ensemble Singing, Small Ensemble, Acting Through Song
- DANCE: Jazz (Beginners and Advanced), Basic Movement, Period Dance
- OTHER: Musical Theatre History, Pilates
After your Easter Break, which will be from Thursday 6th April – Saturday 6th May, you will begin a 3 week Production period. This will commence Sunday 7th May as follows:

Sunday 21st May, Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th, Friday 26th. (Please keep evenings free in this week only)
There will be no normal classes in these 3 weeks. We will be working on a Musical Theatre Production to which agents and casting directors will be invited as well as friends of AS and your own friends and family. This is usually be double-cast in order to give all students a chance to learn a larger role. Students will be introduced to the rigours and disciplines of a professional company rehearsal process.
Additionally students will be given further practical advice on marketing tools, including photos and CV’s. You will be guided in regards to your ideal casting and strengths. Appropriate audition repertoire will be chosen for each student. As Associated Studios works closely with the profession, industry trends and upcoming shows are always taken into account.
Singers will also get the chance to record a demo tape in one of London’s top recording studios for use of self promotion, and uploading on casting sites such as Spotlight.
This intensive year of study culminates with a West End Showcase performance to which industry professionals including agents and casting directors are invited.
