This qualification is designed to develop your understanding of management and to develop key management skills. You may have already achieved qualifications in management at a lower level or you may not have management qualifications. You may have already gained qualifications in other areas and/or prior relevant experience in the workplace.
Who this Qualification is for?This qualification is particularly relevant if you are seeking to progress to higher education to take a BA degree course in an area of management or you wish to progress your career in a management role.
EligibilityThere are no formal requirements for specific prior qualifications or levels of attainment but if you have recently been in education or training you will normally be expected to have either 2 or more GCE A levels and 5 or more GCSEs at grades C and above, other level 3 qualifications in relevant subjects.
Alternatively, you may hold an Access to Higher Education Certificate or other equivalent international qualifications.
Mature learners will normally have relevant work experience (paid and/or unpaid) with a degree of responsibility, and/or achievement of relevant professional qualifications.
You must have a good standard of English to enable you to access relevant resources and complete the unit assignments. English support programmes are available with this programme to support language needs.
ProgressionAlthough the primary purpose of the qualification is to support progression to final year of degree programmes with our partner universities, through this Diploma you will acquire a range of knowledge and understanding of management concepts and develop the key skills required to work in a management role in any sector.
If you are newly appointed to a first management position, the qualification will support you to develop in your role. If you are seeking a first management role it will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to management that will enable you to apply for a management position with confidence.
