This 1 day, Highfield's accredited course has been designed for any person working or living within a childcare environment where there may be a need to perform emergency first aid to a child or baby.
Course ContentThis 1-day course will cover:
- Introduction to Paediatric First Aid
- Dealing with emergencies – Priorities of treatment
- CPR
- Recovery Position
- Airway & breathing difficulties
- Wounds and bleeding
- Other serious illnesses and injuries
By attending this course learners will gain in-depth information into how to perform first aid to a child or toddler. Learners will be able to demonstrate their skills during practical modules where they will learn the importance of maintaining good practice in the welfare of children and welfare.
QCF UnitsThis is a 1 credit qualification and contains the following unit:
- Emergency Paediatric First Aid
Throughout the course, learners will have sessions of questions & answers, alongside activities and exercises. Learners will carry out a practical assessment based on their knowledge and skills from the course. A multiple choice test paper will also be completed
