Introduction
The Aim of the Course is to train delegates in the safe use of the BA to enable them to operate in toxic atmospheres for limited periods, including the initial stages of an emergency.
Who Should AttendPersonnel who occasionally use BA in their work.
Course DurationThe course is run in in 1 day.
Course ObjectivesThe Objectives of the Course are to enable delegates to:
- Work safely in confined spaces and associated hazards and risks.
- Inspect and use personal protective equipment and site safety equipment.
- Implement the appropriate accident and emergency procedures.
Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations /exercises, all of which are highlighted by the use of PPT/OHP & Videos covering:
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
- Confined Spaces Regulations
- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
- Other current relevant regulations
- Confined space hazards and associated risks
- Safe working procedures and entry permits
- Gas detection
- Types of respiratory protection
- Pre- use checks of the BA.
- Carry out the donning and operating procedures correctly and safely.
- Accident and emergency procedures
- Practical exercises
