What is the course and what does it include?
The course is aimed at employees involved in the maintenance of buildings and associated plant, to ensure the health and safety of maintenance workers and others who may encounter asbestos in the workplace*.
On successful completion of the course delegates will be aware of the health and safety issues associated with asbestos, significantly reducing the risk of themselves and others.
The course includes:
✓ What is asbestos?
✓ What health concerns are related to asbestos?
✓ Who is at risk?
✓ Historical overview
✓ Asbestos uses- where is it found in buildings?
✓ What are the legislative requirements?
✓ Safe working practices and safe systems of work
The course duration is half a day.
*Please note: This course is not intended to equip delegates with the specialist knowledge needed to conduct the removal of items such as asbestos insulation, coatings, and insulation board. That work is governed by strict regulations for which specialist licenses and other recognised accreditation is required.
