This course is suitable for anyone who uses IT as a part of their job function at an advanced level. The course content can also include specialist and/or bespoke software specific to you or your organisation’s needs.
Course DescriptionIT user skills are required for over 72% of job roles and over 90% of new posts specifically require IT user skills. This course covers the broad range of advanced skills and knowledge required to perform IT tasks in any sector or industry. Units include:
- Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Databases
- E-Mail, Internet
- Set Up an IT System
- Website, audio, video, picture software
- Security and Data Protection
- Using Collaborative Technologies
- Bespoke software
Learners will need to complete 3 mandatory units (Improving Productivity Using IT, Understanding the Potential of IT, Developing Personal and Team Effectiveness Using IT) and a choice of optional units as above.
Course Duration and QCF Credit Value9 months. A minimum of 39 credits
AssessmentAssessments will be carried out with you throughout the course. These may consist of work products, observations, discussions, questioning, witness statements, reflective learning journals and others. All assessments are planned with you beforehand. At level 3, the learner would be expected to take at least some autonomy for deciding a suitable assessment strategy and coming up with appropriate evidence. We are able to make adjustments to assessments to take account of the needs of individual learners, for instance dyslexia or a physical disability. Please ask your assessor about this.
