Overview

The DSE regulations came into force on the 1st January 1993 covering the use of DSE equipment used by people for a significant part of their working day.

When the legislation came into force most workers who used DSE only had the desktop PC to contend with. Now, we see all types of equipment from laptops to tablets to hand held phones. Whilst not specified in the regulations we believe that employers must make assessments regarding safe use.

The term DSE covers “display screen equipment” and covers a wide range of electronic equipment which is normally part of a computer system within the office or mobile working environment.

Learning outcome

Beesafe’s DSE Train the Trainer/Assessor Training Course provides those responsible for Health & Safety with an understanding and appreciation of the legal requirements under the DSE Regulations 1992 and the practical ergonomic requirements to protect themselves, their employees and visitors from the risks associated with the use of DSE.
