Interested in Canine Behaviour? 

Learn both theory and practical application in one comprehensive course.

Study Level:  2 Level (Similar to GCSE)
Course Fee:  £525 (Monthly payment plan available).
Minimum student number is:  3
Maximum student number is: 6
 
Please note that although the course runs for 13 sessions there may be breaks within this period for home study and practical exercises. 
Course Fee Covers:
All tuition, full insurance, all electronic and paper hand outs and other study and assessment materials, suggested reading list, written feedback, theory and practical assessments and Certification.

Equipment Required:

* Pen and paper for note taking.

* A4 Folder and paper for portfolio production.

* email address or memory card for hand outs and additional material.

* Regular access to a sociable dog for training and practical assessments.+

* Access to a computer or ability to produce hand written work.

* Access to either books or the internet for research and continued study.

+ Access to a suitable dog also includes bringing the dog to College for practical handling and your assessment on two occasions. The dog must be sociable and non aggressive to other dogs and people.

Course Modules:
  • Module 1: Animal Learning Theories
  • Module 2: Canine Communication
  • Module 3: Handling skills, control, restraint and the application of learning theories
  • Module 4: Diet & Nutrition, the endocrine system, neurotransmission and other influences on behaviour.
  • Module 5: Evolution of Behaviour and Domestication influences in behaviour
  • Module 6: Dog breeds and the influences on dog behaviour.

There are no entry requirements for this course.

This course is suitable for:-

  • Those new to receiving structured training in canine behaviour.
  • Those working towards the KCAI Scheme.
  • Those working within the industry such as kennel staff, dog trainers, dog groomers and dog walkers, vet nurses, and hydrotherapists.
  • Those who have little theory knowledge and application of learning theory or handling of different breeds.
  • Those interested in the topic of canine behaviour.
