The United States workforce is evolving, as national demographic trends change. Affirmative Action programs were created to force companies to stop discriminating against groups of people. Diversity programs are very different, in that they are voluntary efforts companies undertake to have a variety of demographic, cultural, and personal differences within their organizations. Companies that have strong diversity programs tend to save money, attract a stronger workforce, and have better business growth.
A diverse workforce is one where individual differences are embraced; companies that have diversity programs tend to be more effective. This course discusses workplace diversity and affirmative action programs.
