Prepare for a career in interior design, or transform your own home.
Short, part-time, day, 6-week introduction to interior design course, either as a springboard for further study/qualifications, or for those thinking of undertaking any residential interior design projects. Small groups.
Syllabus:
Students develop their ideas and creativity through theory, practical work and voluntary assignments. The course includes workshops on colour, pattern and texture, the art of display and styling, space planning, budgeting, coordinating design schemes,
window and wall treatments, types of lighting and lighting basics, accessories and accents, how to coordinate a design project successfully and work through a project from a professional interior designer's point of view.
Suitability: Suitable for beginners - with little or no knowledge of the subject. Age 17+
Location: Autumn Brook Studio, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, EN6
Duration: One day per week for 6 weeks (10.30 am till 1.30 pm)
Travel: 10 minutes' walk from Potters Bar train station, or 398 bus from Cockfosters tube station on the Piccadilly Line.

By the end of the course students should have the confidence to
* create a design scheme
* create plans for lighting/electrics/space planning
* present an interior design scheme with design/mood sample boards based on their newly-gained knowledge
* project manage an interior design.
