Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People Level 2 Course (1 Day)

This includes those in voluntary or unpaid positions. Our Safeguarding Level 2 training course covers how to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners in the workplace as well as how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused. Children are those aged below 16 and young people are those aged between 16 and 18.

The Children’s Act 2004 places duties on a range of organisations to ensure they have regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. This includes the need for appropriate safeguarding training, as employers are responsible for ensuring staff are competent to carry out their responsibilities towards safeguarding of children and young people. Our Safeguarding Level 2 training course would meet this requirement.

This is a full day course and will usually be delivered over 6 hours with learners being given tasks to complete in preparation for the course.

Safeguarding and Protecting Children or Young People

• Understand how to safeguard and protect children, young people and practitioners in the workplace
• Know how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child or young person has been abused.

To complete this course learners must complete an open-response workbook. This assessment model requires learners to provide a short response to prescribed questions within a workbook. Successful learners will have to demonstrate knowledge and understanding across the qualification syllabus

A maximum of 16 students are allowed and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
