ITG now deliver the new Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training ()
this course has been designed to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts. The qualification will meet the needs of a range of teachers and trainee teachers who would like to gain a qualification which focuses on practical teaching. It will be appropriate for those with some experience of teaching and training. This could include individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements outlined in the mandatory and optional units. It is also appropriate for individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification.

Learners will complete topics which include the delivery of teaching or training, planning to meet the needs of learners, assessing learners and using resources in education and training.

What are the entry requirements for this qualification?
Learners must be aged at least 19 and undertake a formal initial assessment for English, mathematics and ICT. This can be by evidence of other qualifications or via our VLE.

How is it achieved? Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence that will meet the learning outcomes for the units that have been selected.

• Individuals who are currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training) who can meet the practice requirements, including the 
assessed practice requirements, of the qualification
• Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification.

Course Details

All learners completing this qualification need to have the following:-

Access to a Computer/Laptop with for the duration of the course with Internet access, Microsoft Word 97 or newer and to have the ability to download documents, amend them, save them and then upload them to the Moodle Based Virtual Learning Environment

All Train the Trainer entrants need to have the personal and intellectual abilities to acquire the knowledge and understand the skills needed to gain this award.
