Fire Safety Awareness

The course teaches basic fire safety awareness as it applies to the workplace. Courses can be tailored to individual settings, for example for Children Homes or nurseries. Fire safety training for all is a mandatory expectation of The Health & Safety Executive (HSE), CSCI and OFSTED.

 The course will look at:

             General Fire precautions to be observed in all workplaces
             Truth about fires
             Causes of fire and ignition sources.
             The Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005
             Fire Prevention measures
             Fire extinguisher use and maintenance
             Emergency/evacuation procedures
             Knowledge of organisations fire procedures
             Action to be taken on hearing a fire alarm
             Location of Assembly points
            Special arrangements for staff with disabilities and visitors.
            Theoretical and practical training in use of First Aid Fire Fighting equipment
            including Fire extinguishers maintained for the oraganisation (subject to                           a suitable location for safe demonstration)

Course tutor will award certificate of attendance for all participants on the course.
