Walk stunning locations, with like-minded folk at a photographer's pace!

If you're like me when out on walks and you find yourself (and your camera) trailing some metres behind the rest of the group. Or if you find yourself rushing your photos to avoid holding the group up, then the Walking Photographer Social is just what you need!

Walking Photographer Socials give people the chance to join an inspiring walk while having enough time to take photos. They are also a really enjoyable way to practice, learn and develop your photography skills.

Each walk starts at a new exciting location and follows a route that's full of great subject matter for your photographs. Along the walk we're joined people of all abilities who just enjoy taking photos. People come along with anything from a camera phone or iPad to a DSLR. There's no camera snobbery on these walks, just a shared joy of getting outdoors and taking pictures.

These social photo walks gives people the chance to explore inspiring locations at pace that is perfect for creative photography!

Like all good walks, we finish in a local pub where we sit down over a pint (or whatever you fancy), look at some of the photos we've taken and just generally chat, most likely about the weather! It's a good opportunity to discuss ideas and ask questions, may be questions about a camera you're interested in that someone already has, or a photographic technique you've seen but are unsure on how to achieve it. The idea is to develop your photography in a fun and relaxed environment.

Each Walking Photographer Social happens in a new location and offers the chance to:

  • Enjoy a guided walk that gives you enough time to take photos
  • Learn and share photography skills and ideas
  • Challenge and develop your creative skills in a fun and informal environment
  • Explore unique and stunning locations
  • Meet new, like minded people while experiencing the joys of being outdoors
  • Chance for your photos to be seen on the website, with the possibility of being included in an End of Year exhibition

Who is this photo walk for?

The Walking Photographer Social is open to anyone of any age (minors must be accompanied by adult) interested in taking photographs in a relaxed and social environment. The are no restrictions to the type of camera or experience you have, if you want to come along with a phone as your camera please do! The more varied the group the more we learn from each other.

The suitability of the terrain changes with each photo walk. If you have accessibility concerns please get in touch.
