For the trainee to be able to deliver their own courses in Harness Safety training and basic Working at Height. The training also covers the inspection, fitting and use of fall restraint harnesses.

Learning Outcome:  

By the end of the course the participant will be able to display an understanding of:

• Basic overview of the Work at Height Regulations
• Hazards and risks when working at height
• Fall prevention, fall restraint & fall arrest.
• Harness types and standards
• Component parts of fall arrest systems
• Pre-use inspection of harnesses and lanyards
• Correct wearing and fitting of harnesses (practical exercise)
• Storage and care of equipment
• Rescue provision requirements
• Structuring and delivering training including dealing with various learning styles
• Assessment of trainees

Is This Course Approved By City And Guilds?  

Yes

Assessment Criteria:  

There is a written test and the trainees will be assessed on the practical element.
The training involves candidate participation with the emphasis on the practical element of the training. On day two the candidate will carry out a practical training session on which they will be assessed.

City And Guilds Profile Of Achievement:  

The candidate will complete a pre-course questionnaire, a mid-course interview and a post-course professional discussion to fulfil the requirements of the City and Guilds Profile of Achievement criteria.
