Course description
Introduction to Phlebotomy GPT003 (Nationally Accredited Venepuncture / Blood Collection) - 72 UK training venues:

An easy-going two day, classroom-based course - theory and ample hands-on practice and experience using artifical arms and fake blood! No previous experience or qualifications required.

The course covers a wide range of topics to start you on the path to a career as a Phlebotomist, starting as trainee (within the NHS is usually Payband 2). A competency certificate may subsequently be issed by your employer after you have demonstrated your skills on a given number of patients, and may take from 2 to 6 weeks.

A nationally recognised and accredited certificate (awarded by OCN Credit4Learning) provides a significant step up the “career ladder” – many employers, colleges and universities throughout the UK recognise OCN credits.

Awards a Level 3 (Advanced) Certificate in Phlebotomy

The course is divided into 14 Modules over two days, starting at 9.30am and finishing at approx. 5pm on both days with tea breaks morning and afternoon and a lunch-break of approx. 45 - 60 minutes.

This course is ideal for you if:

  • You are seeking a career change and looking for work within the healthcare sector (NHS, Private Clinics, Care Homes or Community).
  • You are currently unemployed or between jobs.
  • You are already working within the healthcare sector and wish to increase your skills or a career change.
