Childcare First Aid (Occupational First Aid)
Details
Occupational First Aid is the gold standard in First Aid Training for the workplace.Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007, there is a requirement on employers based on a risk assessment to have a sufficient number of Occupational First Aiders trained and deployed in the workplace.
Details: A comprehensive and practical three-day Childcare First Aid course which is designed to train personnel who are involved in the childcare profession in First Aid.
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Provide necessary first aid within the workplace
- Deal with emergencies while awaiting the arrival of emergency services
- Implement essential life saving skills if required
During the afternoon of Day 3 both the practical and written exam will take place.
The examination will be divided as follows:
Skill Demonstrations (2) 80%
Written Exam 20%
All of our instructors are registered with the OFAAA and our course is run in accordance with
HSA guidelines.
Certification is valid for 2 years.

- Dressings and bandages Fractures – causes, types, signs and symptoms
- Sprains, strains and dislocation Crush injuries
- General rules for treatment
- Dressing and bandaging fractures Epilepsy, Asthma and Diabetes
- Emergency First Aid Kits – contents Revision – practical; any requested subject
All First Aid Training is a specialist training organisation offering a variety of courses in First Aid instruction to organisations, businesses, groups (clubs,creches,playscools,mother toddler groups) and individuals across Munster. We also provide Manual handling and Baby Massage, specialising in Paediatric First Aid in the greater Cork area.
These courses are designed to provide clear, practical and easy to understand instruction at all levels, from Basic to Advanced. The training can be provided in a company training facility or at public venues and all courses are fully insured and certified.
Founder Colette Moynihan and her team of qualified and experienced professionals have many years of front line experience in the design, structure and provision of First Aid and Manual Handling training courses. All first Aid Training is a PHECC Recognised Training Centre.
The company was established in 2008 in response to an awareness in the lack of organised professional courses relating to Paediatric First Aid training in Munster.
