The Hairdressing and Make up course will allow you to develop the skills employers want as well as finding the confidence you need to progress in this global industry.
Our brand new makeup course is designed to be a bespoke course to ensure you are doing exactly what you want. Students will start with an introductory 10 week course and will then have the opportunity to build their course from there. Add in life casting,
special effects, upstyling, prothetics, makeup for TV & film and much more. Build your dream course at The Galligan College!
Hairdressing Syllabus
- Shampooing and Conditioning
- Creative Styling and Dressing Hair
- Precision Cutting
- Colouring Techniques
- Perming
- Scalp Massage
- Client Consultation
- Working in Hairdressing & Health and Safety
Makeup Syllabus
- Day, Evening and Bridal Make-up Techniques
- Celebrity Makeup/ Insta Glam Techniques
- Corrective/Contouring Techniques
- Face Shapes & Skin Tones
- Recognition and understanding of Lighting
- Anatomy and Physiology.
- Skin including structure, function and skin conditions.
On completion of Module 1 you can then decide to progress with Module 2 & 3.
Module 2:
- Fashion and TV/Film Make-Up Application
- Application of False Eyelashes
- Working as a Make-Up Artist
- Principles of colour
- Historical Period Make-up and Hairstyling
- Theatrical and Character Make-Up
Module 3:
- Use of Wax, Putty and Latex
- Application of Various Casualty and Special Effects
- Use of Bald Caps
- Application of False Hair
Case studies and portfolio work must be submitted for all modules

3 Full days per week

Qualification
City & Guilds Diploma in Hairdressing
