Our half-day challenging behaviour course aims to increase the knowledge of the care giver in the understanding of underlying causes of behaviours which are challenging. This is along with early intervention and non-physical methods for preventing or managing challenging behaviour. The training also addresses how to recognize triggers of challenging behaviour and the importance of self-care for the carer.
Who should attend this course?
This training is aimed at nurses, healthcare assistants and any person who wants to learn de-escalation skills and how to deal with challenging behaviour.
Course Objectives
To give participants the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to deal with challenging behaviour, in order to deescalate situations that pose a risk to you and clients alike.

Methods of Training
The course is highly interactive with each theory session being followed by a demonstration, practical tasks and assessment of individual skills.
Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment throughout the course. Students receive a PSTC Certificate on completion. The certificate is valid for 2 years.
