Company Security Offcer Course (ISPS)

This is a four day course for persons designated as the Company Security Officer (CSO of a shipping company. It is UK MCA approved and recognised worldwide.
Course Aim:
This UK Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) approved training programme provides Company Security Officers and managers with the knowledge and skills to carry out duties as a designated Company Security Officer (CSO) in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
Who should attend:
Company management personnel who have been, or are likely to be, appointed as Company Security Officers under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.
Course Content:
- Duties and training of a Company Security Officer (CSO)
- Understanding the ISPS Code
- Threats to maritime security
- Security measures required at each security level
- Ship Security surveys and assessment
- Planning and monitoring ship security
- Security training and drills
- Applying the Declaration of Security
- Overview of port facility security
- Dealing with stowaways, piracy and hostage-taking
- Identifying weapons and improvised explosive devices
- Security equipment and systems; capabilities and limitations.

Course Duration: 4 days.
