THE CITB accredited SSSTS course is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities.
Course information:
The SSSTS course provides supervisors with an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will highlight the requirement to promote Health & Safety to supervise effectively.
Outline
- Health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors
- Your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely
- Risk assessments and the need for method statements
- Effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
- Monitoring site activities effectively
- Timely intervention when bad practice is identified
To complete this course delegates must pass the end of course exam. The exam consists of 22 multiple choice questions and 3 short written questions. There are 4 safety critical questions that MUST be answered correctly.
Certification:
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take the SSSTS Refresher course before the expiry date. If you chose not to renew before the expiry of your original certificate, you will have to re-take the full 2 day course.
