Transformative Therapy using Art and Music

This distance learning course uses the creative arts, colour and sound as therapy. It is suitable for anyone wanting to work in a complementary health field using art and music to accelerate self-growth and inner healing. It is also suitable for artists, musicians, teachers and therapists or anyone who would like to develop their own self-knowledge and creative abilities.
Transformative Therapy differs from other art and music therapies in that it uses colour, shape, form and sound as an empowering and healing process that promotes expansive emotional healing and spiritual-growth. The therapist acts as a facilitator through inspiring creative tasks that can be accompanied by music. The course also includes visualisation, counselling and sound therapy techniques. Afterwards you can work with adults or children, singly or in groups.
No previous qualifications are needed, only and interest in using art and music as a transformative therapy and a desire to work in a creative and caring role. Although you study from home the course has plenty of interesting practical tasks for you to carry out and give feedback of your experiences.
You can enrol onto this fascinating course at any time. It is offered for home study by email, CD with plenty of practical content, and with comprehensive feedback from your expert tutor, Suzy Chiazzari, our principal. You can enrol anytime via the Holistic Design Institute website, and it normally takes around 6 months to complete the course, studying at your own speed.

On successful completion an International Diploma awarded by the Holistic Design Institute.
ASSESSMENT
The assessment is through question sheets and practical tasks carried out by the student and a final project. You will receive comprehensive feedback and advice from your expert tutor when you send in your coursework for marking.
