The Certificate in Education and Training is a professional teaching qualification which has an in-service teaching/training requirement. All teachers/trainers in-service must have access to 30 hours of teaching or practice. This qualification is suitable for those delivering education and training in any learning environment.What do I need?

You should be qualified/experienced in the subject you wish to teach this must be at least at Level 3, with good levels of language, literacy and numeracy. You should be IT literate. You must have access to 30 hours of teaching.

How is the course taught?

A wide range of blended teaching methods are used to meet your learning requirements, including dedicated tutor support, group activities via the Moodle online forums, mentoring tutorials via Moodle, or telephone if required.

How will I be assessed?

You will be continuously assessed throughout the course by a combination of assignments and observation of teaching or training. Assessment is subject to external verification. Three observations are required for the core units and 1 Hour for each session. Further to a risk assessment further charges could apply. Sometimes a video is taken of your teaching session to inform best practice.

What does it lead to?

Progress onto Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET)

Mentoring units now applicable to this level of study.

To be awarded this qualification a learner must achieve a minimum of 36 credits. 21 credits from Group A and 15 credits from Group B. At least 21 credits must be at Level 4 or above.
