By the end of the course participants will be empowered & enabled to:
-
Recognise early signs and symptoms of possible problems, child abuse and neglect in accordance with national guidelines, their LSCB and their company safeguarding and child protection procedures
-
Identify the course of action one should take if they have concerns or a child discloses abuse to them, identifying appropriate contacts, in compliance with LSCB procedures
-
To work through the power-point presentation and to familiarise oneself with the details and information contained within.
By the end of the session staff will:

Be familiar with the use of differing terminology

Be familiar with legislation that guides and instructs staff how to conduct their duties to safeguard children

Know and understand the importance of working together (2010) to safeguard children, and how to use the information, in a constructive manner

Identify personal and organisational good practice to safeguard the welfare of children
