Who should attend this SOVA course?
Our SOVA Training is aimed at nurses, healthcare assistants and any person who works with the elderly on a regular basis.
Course objectives
Providing the healthcare worker with knowledge regarding the signs and indications of abuse of vulnerable adults, to promote wellbeing of the vulnerable patients.
Course programme
How to safeguard vulnerable adults through:
- Increasing knowledge and understanding of what use is.
- Help staff identify the different types of abuse.
- Assist staff in how to recognise abuse or signs of abuse.
- Help staff identify care practices that might lead or contribute to abuse.
- To increase staff knowledge of actions necessary to report abuse.
- How to manage disclosure.
Methods of Training
This course is given through a DVD based lecture method.
Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment throughout the course. Students receive a PSTC Certificate on completion. The certificate is valid for 2 years.
