Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt
The development of a LSS Master Black Belt is less about training and much more about coaching them through their development. Renault-Nissan Consulting's approach to developing a Master Black Belt (MBB) is based upon assessing if the candidate has a true mastery of the Lean Six Sigma subject.
The MBB must demonstrate their mastery through mentoring and coaching Green and Black Belts in their project work and via providing appropriate training for these people and for the wider organisation.In the role of Master Black Belt, candidates will operate with the most senior members of the organisation and as such, must display confidence, competence and an ability to see the ‘big picture’. They must be able to provide a statistical analysis service, that does not pre-judge, but allows the ‘data to speak’.
RNC's MBB approach is based around the following elements and is designed to be tailored subject to the basic ability of the candidate and the needs of the organisation:
- 1:1 Coaching
- Detailed understanding of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques
- Feedback from those that the candidate coaches and trains
- Completion of an assessment of the candidates own current competency assessment and the creation of a Personal Development Plan to close any gaps in their knowledge and understanding
The conclusion of the successful development of a LSS MBB is in the candidate being awarded Certified Master Black Belt status through the British Quality Foundation.

This course is targeted at the top 1% of Certified Black Belts, with a proven track record of implementing great projects.
