The Become a Music Teacher Training Course has been specially designed to help musicians make the most of their teaching skills. It wont tell you what to teach but it will help you make the best of the resources that you use in your teaching thus improving your standing in the market place and helping you to attract more pupils.
Once you have signed up to the Become a Music Teacher Training Course you will be able to access all the course materials. The course takes you logically through ten modules each with a task for you to complete at the end of each module.

- Helping pupils understanding the Elements of Music
- Lesson Planning
- Timing and structure of lessons
- Warm Ups and Starter Activities
- Individual Lesson Plans techniques for individual and small group teaching
- Collecting the best resources for your lessons
- Planning ahead for a months/terms/years lessons (schemes of work)
- Profiling your pupil for better results and Assessing pupils progress
- Continual Self Assessment
You can take as long as you wish to go through the course but a good guide would be to aim to complete one module a week. When you have successfully completed all the tasks for the ten modules you will be awarded with a certificate of completion.

The Become a Music Teacher Training Course has been written by internationally renown music educationalist Andy Gleadhill.
Andy Gleadhill is a Musician, Educator, Author, Composer, Ethnomusicologist and Teacher Trainer. He has over thirty five years experience as a professional Musician and Educationalist. As a performing musician Andy has played with some of the leading Recording Artists and Orchestras. Andy has had many papers and articles published on World Music and Music Education topics and has had seven books published on world music education topics and contributed the chapter on Music for the recently published academic book “Popular Culture, Pedagogy and Teacher Education” (Routledge 2014).
Andy has worked at every level of music education from Early Years settings to Post Graduate teaching at Conservatoires and Universities around the world. For over fifteen years he has been, and remains, a visiting lecturer at Bath Spa University Institute for Education where he teaches on the specialist secondary music PGCE course. Andy was for many years the Head of Bristol Arts and Music Service which he built into a leading music support service. He has also served on the Music Hub Advisory Group of Arts Council England. He is a member of the Royal Society of Musicians and serves on the Executive Committee of the British Musicians’ Union.
Andy has also worked as an examiner for the Guildhall school of Music and Drama and Trinity College London, has co-authored Trinity/Guildhall examination syllabus and has been retained as a consultant to the ABRSM. He is a consultant to the Ministry of Education in Singapore and a visiting professor to the Malaysian Music Teachers Training College.
