Children's Modern Theatre Dance, ISTD exam syllabus, including Beginners aged 5-8.:
Standing and floor exercises based on natural movement, designed to develop core strength and flexibility, together with dance movements and practice to enhance rhythmical, musical and dramatic skills and confidence. The ISTD Grade 1 syllabus is taught for those wishing to take the examination, together with group dances for performing for those wanting some theatrical experience as well as performing to parents/carers.
Children can progress to the Grade 2 class when ready
Bare feet are required, and a sleeveless catsuit is worn for girls, cycling shorts for boys. (Both can be purchased from the teacher at discounted costs, cheaper than retail prices).

We are a Dance School in Clapham that has been teaching children and adults, both amateur and professional, and enabling the benefits of dance for over 25 years. Our base is close to Clapham Junction, Clapham Common and Vauxhall mainline and underground stations, on many bus routes.
Our aim is to inspire students to love dancing, make full use of all their physical and mental capabilities and to express themselves emotionally to reach a competent level of technique and artistry.
