This course is designed to provide an understanding of the Confined Space Regulations 1997, providing delegates with basic information regarding safe work in confined spaces and requires the delegate to take part in the set up and controlled entry into a designated confined space.

- Avoiding Entry
- Safe Systems of Work
- Emergency Procedures and Rescue
- Risk Assessment
- Use of a permit to work
- Use of gas detection equipment
- Use of escape breathing apparatus
- Use of personal protection and safety equipment, tripod, winch, harness and safety lines
- Monthly maintenance checks
- Methods of communications
- Personal hygiene
- Emergency and rescue procedures
- Setting up an entry system
- Use of safety equipment, tripods etc
- Personal equipment donning e.g. Harness, gloves, boots, elsa
- Use and demonstration of elsa equipment
- Use and demonstration of monitoring equipment
- Entry into confined space and emergency escape procedure
Please Note:
Some prior knowledge of the topic is required.
Delegates should attend a refresher course every 3 years.
This course does not include full BA but includes Emergency Rescue Sets.
