Course Summary
The SSSTS course is for first line managers – those who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities. It provides an introduction to health and safety, welfare and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely managing a construction site. This course is intended to give site supervisors a clear understanding of how health and safety affects their role and the practical steps they can take to ensure a safe site.

Course Information
The SSSTS qualification covers the following topics:
• Health and Safety at Work Act and relevant regulations
• Specific site issues, which include such topics as work at height
• Tool box talks
• Control of subcontractors
• Health issues course
Assessment
This is a highly interactive course delivered by means of case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual/group presentations. You will be continuously assessed and required to successfully complete a multiple-choice test.
Upon successfully completing the course you will be awarded a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.
Progression
The SSSTS course is the first management course on the CITB ladder. Progression is to the SMSTS course – Site Management Safety Training scheme
