The Paediatric course is designed for people caring for children in any setting including nurseries and schools. It is designed to help prepare you for dealing with emergency situations, including giving CPR. This course is shorter than the 12 hour Early years syllabus course recommended by Ofsted. The course also covers the syllabus required to achieve Millies Mark.
Course Syllabus:
- Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take.
- Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
- Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally.
- Seizures.
- Choking.
- Bleeding.
- Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock).
- Legislation, accident book, RIDDOR & contents of 1st aid box.
Course length: 6 – 7 hrs over 1 day.
Qualification achieved: TQUK Level 3 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid (RQF).
Cost: £50 per person + VAT on open courses.
£50 per person (min charge of £300) + VAT for in-house courses.
