This 2 day Paediatric first aid course is in line with the early years foundation stage requirements for childminders and gives candidates the knowledge and ability to deal with emergency first aid situations particularly whilst dealing with children.
This course is recognised by Early years and Lincolnshire County Council and the syllabus is in line with the early years foundation stage requirements.
The course also covers the syllabus required to achieve Millies Mark.
This course is suitable for nursery workers, childminders and anyone who wants a more in depth first aid knowledge whilst looking after young children.
Course Syllabus:
- Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take.
- Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
- Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally.
- Seizures.
- Choking.
- Bleeding.
- Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock).
- Legislation, accident book, RIDDOR & contents of 1st aid box.
- Anaphylactic shock.
- Electric shock.
- Burns and scalds.
- Fractures.
- Head, neck or back injuries.
- poisoning.
- Foreign body in eyes, ears or nose.
- Eye injury.
- Bite and stings.
- Effects of extreme heat or cold.
- Diabetic emergency.
- Asthma.
- Allergic reaction.
- Meningitis.
- Febrile convulsions.
Course length: 12 hours over 2 days.
Qualification achieved: TQUK Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF).Cost: £85 per person + VAT on open courses.
£85 per person (min charge of £510) + VAT for in-house courses.
Courses can be run in house or at our training centres in Lincoln and Grimsby. We also run open courses regularly for individuals or businesses needing to train single employees.
