This RSPH certified course is designed to provide learners with a solid understanding of the fundamental principles of HACCP, as well as the practical skills to construct or review a HACCP plan for their own business area.

This course is suitable for all food handlers in the retail, catering and food processing industries, including supermarkets, restaurants, staff catering, hotels, butchers, crèches, care homes and food factories.

A basic understanding of English is required and ideally learners should have previously completed a basic food hygiene qualification.

Reasonable accommodations can be made for learners with special requirements to access and complete the course, if these are identified to us in advance.

When and where does the course take place?

Duration: One full day

Location: EIQA Offices, 68 Pembroke Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4

Learning Outcomes:

  • At the end of this training you will have an understanding of –
  • The principles of HACCP and food safety management
  • How to develop & implement a HACCP plan for your own business
  • How to validate, verify and review and update an existing HACCP plan
  • Developing a team approach to HACCP and food safety management
  • Taking a pro-active approach to food safety management
  • How to identify food safety hazards, critical control points and carry out risk assessments.
  • How to establish control measures and critical limits.
  • How to develop monitoring procedures and records
  • Legal requirements in relation to HACCP and food safety management.

Assessment & Certification:

There is a 30 minute multiple choice exam at the end of the course.
