Details

This leadership training course focuses on three fundamental areas:

  1. Influence
  2. Power
  3. Leadership

Its main purpose is to provide participants with a fascinating insight into how people can influence others in order to change opinions and behaviour. It examines what really works when trying to persuade and influence others, including an examination of vital behaviours as well as people's fears and motivation. Social media and open source resources will be explored as tools for successful advocacy. In addition, you will learn how to generate scale and referral through carefully crafted strategic social influence techniques. The course draws heavily upon cognitive psychology and evolutionary psychology, exploring the mismatches between the ways in which our thinking has evolved and the social and commercial environment that we now experience. Course participants also explore effective techniques for influencing others as well as ways to make that first vital impression, featuring appearance, body language and the spoken word. The course includes the skills of advocacy and attracting, enabling you to enlist others to spread your message.

The course enables participants to review their own leadership style and shows how best to become a leader. Leadership capabilities and competencies are reviewed, especially those relating to the management of complex issues, crisis leadership, handling times of uncertainty and the development of networks of influence. The complex and fascinating topic of power is also examined and why some people exude it, while others fail to signal any real ability to stand out from the ordinary.

Ultimately the course attempts to provide a rationale as to why some people succeed and others fail to achieve their potential, despite high educational attainment.
