The course presenter is Gareth Roden, Managing Director of the long established and renowned training company Purchasing Management Services (PMS).

Gareth presents training courses at venues around the UK and internationally across all business sectors and has trained delegates from such high-profile organisations as Panasonic, The Ministry of Defence, HSBC, Toyota, Virgin East Coast, Jet2.Com, BAE Systems, Nestlé, Met Office and the London Underground.

Gareth has been with PMS for 16 years and his hands-on experience and dynamic presentation style have made him a very popular and highly respected presenter. Prior to joining PMS, Gareth held senior management positions in both public and private sector procurement including automotive, mining and mechanical engineering businesses specifically: -
Lucas Automotive (Production Materials Buyer) British Coal Corporation (Contracts Officer, Supply & Contracts Manager, Group Asset Manager) Qualter, Hall & Co Limited (Purchasing & Stores Manager). The various posts have provided Gareth with significant experience in the procurement of capital equipment, bulk material supply contracts, consumables, services and site installation projects.

These activities also included the management and development of purchasing teams and departments plus the financial, physical and safety responsibilities for the operation of stores, stockyards and workshop facilities.

Gareth is degree educated and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply and was for many years a committee member of the Institute’s South Yorkshire Branch.

During his studies for membership to the Institute he was awarded the subject prize in marketing.
