Objective
On completion of this 3-day course together with associated pre and post course assignments, delegates will be equipped to administer and code the Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised (ADI) to the level of Clinical Reliability.

Prerequisites
Typical applicants will have a background in psychiatry, paediatrics, psychology, nursing, speech therapy or similar, and will be currently employed in that capacity either as a clinician, part of a clinical team or part of a research team. Qualifications and employment information must be provided on the course application form. BeginningwithA reserves the right to refuse applications from anyone who appears to have insufficient experience to benefit from the course. Participants wishing to complete the post-course assignments must have access to an ADI-R Manual and forms (Hogrefe product code 5580201).

Description
  • The course takes place over 3 days of virtual delivery. On successful completion, you will be awarded a certificate of course completion to Clinical Reliability.
  • You will experience a mix of Zoom discussions and practical activities based on videos of ADI-R interviews.
  • You will have access to all course videos and other resources for six months from the date of the course.
  • You will receive all interview booklets and forms required for coding during the course.
  • Throughout the course there are ample opportunities for questions and discussion.

The price per delegate is £720 ex VAT. The price includes ADI-R interview booklets and algorithm forms which will be sent to you by post before the course.

Dr Carol Stott

The ADI-R course is delivered by Dr Carol Stott. Carol is a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) and Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a member of the British Psychological Society. She has an MSc in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD in the epidemiology of Specific Language Impairment from the University of Cambridge.

 

Carol spent 13 years in the University of Cambridge Department of Psychiatry carrying out research into genotype-phenotype associations in developmental disorder and with the University of Cambridge Autism Research Centre (ARC) investigating the population frequency of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). In addition to her training and consultancy work with BeginningwithA, she advises a number of research projects on methodology and implementation of screening and diagnostic tools.
